City Gate Community Project rescuces surplus food (that would otherwise be wasted) from the food supply industries, redistributing it to 16,000 people living in food poverty every week, via its 144 partner community groups.
Hendy Foundation has supported this effort with funds for a new freezer.
“This grant means that we can purchase a freezer for one of our partner community groups who support families and children currently living in food poverty. We can now deliver the surplus frozen food that we rescue to them, helping to get even more food to those in need.”
